Afterschool Enrichment Teacher
Job DescriptionThis Afterschool program at LREI, a historic Progressive Education school located in the West Village, is looking for Enrichment teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Afterschool at LREI is a celebration of play, creativity and learning. As a division of the school, Afterschool enriches the LREI experience by providing opportunities for students to learn skills and to work and grow together in a safe environment. The Enrichment Program encompasses a variety of specialized classes, which give children the opportunity to focus on various artistic, creative, and physical disciplines over the course of a session, and are geared toward specific age groups. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about their subject-areas as well as creating fun, child-centered learning environments for their students.

Position Description:

• Create and support a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment (children in Afterschool are between 4-12 years old).

• Create and lead weekly classes for Afterschool students 

• Communicate with Afterschool Core teachers and admin about their classes and their students.

• Classes take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:15pm-5:15pm

Qualifications:

• College degree with background in education and/or athletics preferred

• Experience in an educational program or setting

• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and communicate effectively
