Overview of the position:

LREI seeks a Spanish teacher to teach fifth through eighth graders. The candidate is responsible for taking existing curriculum and implementing a dynamic and progressive Spanish program that allows students to learn language while also connecting to the culture and history of Spanish-speaking countries. Responsibilities include partnering with the other language teachers as well as serving as an advisor for a group of middle school students. Successful LREI teachers are lifelong learners who are reflective about their practice, and are earnest but flexible. They participate in the life of the division beyond their own classrooms, find ways to connect students to ‘real life’, and seek out professional development and leadership opportunities.

Salary Range:

Annual full-time salary of $69,056.52 - $132,556.40 (depending on experience and education).

Specific requirements of the position

• Candidates should be comfortable conducting instruction mostly in Spanish, facilitating hands-on projects, and creating curriculum using backwards design. 

• We seek an educator who enjoys middle schoolers. We seek someone who can inspire students and teachers, be inspired by our mission, and support a dynamic learning environment with high educational expectations.

• A master’s degree in education with a focus on language learning and at least three years of successful experience as a teacher are preferred, but alternate pathways into the profession will be considered.
